Note to Self

When you feel in a good mood, take out a pen and some paper. Cut strips of paper big enough to write down short messages. Using lined paper will make it easier to cut straight.

Write down every positive thing you can think of whether it's about you, someone you care about, your favorite things, quotes you love, etc...

Write as many as you can.

When you are done, place the strips into a box or a jar and place it somewhere safe. Whenever you feel the urge to self-injure, read one strip at a time until you start to feel better.

Tip: An old shoe box works really well for this. Simply cut a slit into the lid to serve as a slot to put your strips of paper through. For another alternative, decorate the box to help distract you from any urges.
